Someone once asked the question, “What is the most hurtful thing in the world?” To no surprise, the answers were things like: loneliness, betrayal, heartache, rejection, and abandonment.
As humans, I am sure that everyone has experienced at least one of those things in their life. And, if you are like the majority, you may bear the wounds of past hurts that have never quite healed. It is hard sometimes for people to comfort and encourage others when they themselves are still dealing with similar issues and problems. What we are searching for is someone who can understand our pain and trials, comfort us through the darkest hours and bring us a hope that we can cling to. That sounds impossible, right? Wrong.
The Bible tells us that Jesus suffered and experienced all of the same things that we have, and even more. And, that as the great physician, he is able to take the heart that has been broken and scarred, and he will “bind up the wounds.” In Jesus we will find a savior that will “never leave nor forsake us,” He IS our hope…”And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.” (Romans 5:5) Are you looking for a hope that doesn’t disappoint?
Look no further...Jesus is here.
